TAEKWON-DO JUNIORS: AGES 8-12
The later years of primary school and transition to high school is an exciting time for kids, however this also brings with it challenges around peer pressure and self esteem, especially with today's social media culture. Training in TaeKwon-Do has so many benefits for their development at this important age. Training as part of the team at the academy is great for their confidence and self-value. The focus and mental strength the develop also helps them resist peer pressure and steer clear of the dangers of drink and drugs when they reach high school.
Being healthy and active as kids move into their teenage years is very important as lifestyle choices made now have a massive impact on their future health and well-being.
Warm-up exercises - fun games and fitness exercises based on skills required for TaeKwon-Do
Basic movement and patterns (forms) - the fundamental movements and techniques of TaeKwon-Do
Special technique - working on their ability to perform jumping and spinning kicks
Sparring - points based light contact sparring helps develop their confidence and competitiveness
Flexibility - developing leg flexibility for kicking in TaeKwondo
Self-defence - focusing on awareness and defence against weapons for older children
Confidence & self-esteem - improved through team work and friendly competition
Juiors White-Green belt train Mondays & Thursdays at 5:00pm-6:00pm
Juniors Green belt and above train Mondays & Thursdays at 6:00pm-7:!0pm
